H.B. Horton’s Patents. Ithaca Calendar Clock Co., Ithaca N.Y. Pendulum etched with Ithaca Calendar Clock Co logo.
Its walnut case has ebonized decorative elements. The upper dial shows the time in Roman numerals, with winding arbors at IIII and VIII for the brass eight-day time-and-strike spring-driven movement behind the dial. Lower clear glass has white Arabic numerals for date of the month. Metal calendar apparatus visible inside case, where rotating wheels show weekday and month.
The Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. made clocks based on the perpetual calendar mechanism patented by Henry Bishop Horton in 1865 and 1866.
