The Georgene Dolls
The 1940s were a golden age for Raggedy Ann and Raggedy
Andy American families were growing faster than ever before. It
was a joy for young parents to introduce their little Baby Boomers
to Johnny Gruelle’s storybook dolls After all. those parents knew
and loved the wholesome cuddly, all-American Raggedys from
their own childhoods. The Georgene Novelty Co. created
variations on Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls during the
1940s. All are now highly prized as heirlooms and collectibles.
However, some were produced in smaller quantities than others,
